West Wing
West Wing
The west wing houses the flex room, also known as the multi purpose room. The flex room has multiple partitions that can be configured to divide the room into individual bays for small team training. The room is large enough to be use for disaster training. It can also be set up as a work area for task trainers, manikins (NYSIM has over 17) or even as a classroom. Learners can practice medical tasks such as tracheal intubation, vascular access and diagnostic ultrasound.

6 configurable bays, with one large flexible room, that can be modified to merge each bay within each other.
2 cameras in each bay for recording
2 drop-ceiling mics in each bay for recording
One large display in each bay for projection of vitals of each simulator, or multi purpose use which includes the ability to project presentations, youtube, etc.
One large central control room to allow "all eyes" to each bay.
Overhead paging control capabilities into each bay from the central control room.
Overhead camera control capabilities into each bay from the central control room.
Two conference rooms for debriefing, both able to playback videos and live stream into each bay, and one equipped with a Polycom teleconferencing unit.
A pc workstation located at each bay that also allows control of recording and video playback. Desktop mic in each bay for our "pillow speakers" that allows our users to play as the patient from the control room or in the control area at each bay.
Wireless headsets for one or two way communication for confederates.
Lockers with custom lock codes as well as electrical outlets for charging devices.
EMS software to allow video capture at the center.

North Wing
North Wing
The north wing has five simulation rooms each with its own control room where instructors can operate manikins and record the event for student/teacher analysis. They can be configured in many ways. Two rooms are set up as operating rooms complete with operating tables, anesthetic machines and basic gases. Other are often configured as labor and delivery rooms, neo native intensive care rooms and trauma bays.

Two rooms with Steris lights and camera for OR room simulations.
Each control room has dedicated camera control and overhead paging capabilities.

East Wing
East Wing
The east wing has 14 office style examination rooms. These rooms are most commonly used for learners to interact with standardized patients. Faculty can observe the encounters through one way mirrors or by watching live video feed.

14 clinical simulation rooms with two cameras and a drop down ceiling mic in each room.
5 "flexible" rooms for multipurpose with a large display monitor in each room.
Observation window at each room with reflective glass for one way viewing.
Observation headphones stationed outside of each room for listening into the rooms.
Computer station inside and outside of each room for electronic note entry.
Overhead paging into all areas of the wing.
Lounge area with ready rooms for standardized patients.
Lockers with custom lock codes as well as electrical outlets for charging devices.
Separate hallways so there's no cross interaction between Faculty, Standardized Patients and Students during a clinical exam.
One main control room to allow overhead paging into each room and hallway within East, as well as the rest of the center.
Two large monitors in the main control room for monitoring learner activity.
Camera control for all cameras in each East wing rooms for optimizing video capture.

Classrooms
Classrooms
Adjacent to the lounge are four classrooms. Each holds approximately 20 people. The two on the north side are seperated by a retractable wall. When the wall is raised the class size can be expanded to 50 to 60 participants. All of the classrooms have state of the art smart boards, audio visual aides, and teleconferencing equipment.

Two rooms with a Smart Podium for interactive presentation without having to leave the podium.

Debriefing Spaces
Debriefing Spaces
There are six small conference rooms scattered around the center. These can be used for debriefing after simulation scenarios. Also the conference rooms can be connected by audio visual links to enable larger groups to be view training sessions in other parts of the center.
