NYSIM Program Highlight— First Night on Call

NYSIM hosted a 4 hour immersive simulation on Patient Safety and Quality to orient the In- coming Interns to the NYULH culture of being a High Reliability Organization. The program included Group OSCE’s, a Patient Safety Room and Case Based Discussions. In June 2017 we hosted 156 incoming interns from 7 residency programs and this year we will host 205 in- coming interns from 17 residency programs.

The oral abstract presented at SGIM, Simulated First Night-onCall (FNOC): Establishing Com- munity and a Culture of Patient Safety for Incoming Interns, presented at the SGIM 2018 annual meeting, has been selected as the Best Oral Presentation in Quality Improvement and Patient Safety.
