In collaboration with Drs. Brian Kaufman and Mitchell Lee, NYSIM hosted our first Maintenance of Certification in Anesthesiology (MOCA) course on December 4, 2016. In 2016 NYSIM received a formal endorsement by the Ameri-can Society of Anesthesiologists to host a MOCA Simulation Course which satisfies the requirement of MOCA 2.0 Part 4: Improvement in Medical Practice. There are 2 additional centers in the New York metropolitan area that are endorsed to host this course. The simulation realistically replicates clinical scenarios that participants can work through in a manner similar to what they may experience in clinical practice. The team hopes to conduct 4 more courses in the 2017 calendar year.
