Exposing and Addressing Mislearning and Proficiency Gaps Using Simulation and Gaming

Timothy C. Clapper, PhD is the Director of Education, and Associate Professor of Teaching in Pediatrics at Weill Cornell Medicine NewYork-Presbyterian Simulation Center, Weill Cornell Medical College. As an educator-researcher, he has reached across disciplines in multiple organizations worldwide to develop and implement simulation-based instruction that has improved performance of individuals, teams, and entire organizations in the timeliest manner. He is passionate about learning theories and the brain-based learning simulation framework, including understanding how learners can inquire, gather, process, and apply what they are learning. In addition, as a mentor and a trainer, he has taught other practitioners in the simulation-based education community to apply this framework to their own educational needs.
